What Is Google Sites
It is possible to have single login onto Google Apps and Enterprise system by introducing SSO server which enables Single Sign-on (SSO) for Google Apps.
SSO server also provides a lot of features including account synchronization, address book migration tool and account single login tool.

    Single Sign-on (SSO)
    Using the existing authentication method, only one login is required for all the approved systems including Google Apps.

    SSO server also provides other configurations including login history, password strength, password expire date, etc.

    The users fill in the login forms sent from SSO server with ID, password and other anthentication data which are required for the systems including Google Apps. SSO get authenticated from anthentication server such as LDAP, then redirect the results to Google Apps.

    Google Apps will check authentication information and digital signature, if the authentication result is varified, Google Apps can be used.

    Once the user anthentication is finished, the session is certificated and there is no need to authenticate again for later sessions.

    Account Synchronization

    With the account sychronization feature provided by SSO server, it is possible to sychronize the authentication information if enterprise account ID or Google Apps account ID get new registration, update or deleted.

    Account Sychronization

    When user adds or updates the account on the account management system, the change of account information will be detected on the SSO server side, and reflected automatically on the Google Apps side.

    Introducing SSO server makes it unnecessary to input different IDs and Passwords for every systems, which helps a lot to the user experience as well as the security issues when using Google Apps.

  • The configurations not available in Google Apps are provided in the SSO server, such as Password Strength to restrict the length and complex of password and Password Expiration Date to force users change password after a certain time
