Tokyo, February 22, 2006 - Fractalist Inc., specialist in development of next-generation network platforms, announced today that it will use Softphone technology developed by International Systems Research (ISR), for its NomadicNode IP Phone development platform for Linux-based wireless IP phones.
NomadicNode is a network platform solution consisting of a NomadicNode Server and client Module. It allows interaction among devices by providing connectivity, management, authentication, and encryption, thus creating a ubiquitous network. The NomadicNode IP Phone is a wireless IP phone development kit that includes Linux OS along with several middleware components on Sophia Systems' Sandgate II-P VoIP terminal development reference board. It allows IP Phone vendors to bring to market high-end wireless IP handsets quickly and with low development costs.
PPPhone is a SIP based Softphone platform optimized for mobile devices such as Portable PCs, PDAs, and new generation Smartphones. PPPhone supports 050 numbering, park, hold and other advanced business phone functions. This is the first deployment for PPPhone on Linux.
Today's announcement marks the first milestone in Fractalist's application strategy for the NomadicNode IP Phone developed in partnership with Sophia Systems. The participation of ISR as a key partner allows Fractalist to strengthen its platform offerings for IP Phone vendors.
Fractalist and ISR launched a project to package NomadicNode and PPPhone for users requiring additional features such as Virtual LAN, NAT traversal and wireless LAN handover. This package creates an ideal VoIP function for future wireless IP phones that is easy to set up and provides seamless connectivity to the internet regardless of where you are - at the office, at home and on the road.
ISR and Fractalist will bring together their respective technologies to provide an ideal development environment for mobile devices.
