Tokyo, September 15, 2005 - Macnica Networks Corp. (MNC), a leader in the import and localization of network equipment in Japan today announced a cooperation agreement with International Systems Research (ISR), a pioneer in the development of mobile internet technology, for the implementation of a serverless application that uses Peerio P2P (Peer to Peer) technology from Popular Telephony.

Peerio is an award-winning serverless P2P technology invented and patented by Popular Telephony, Inc. (PTI), a U.S. registered corporation headquartered in Sophia Antipolis, France. Peerio is distributed exclusively by MNC in Japan. ISR will develop Peerio-based products and applications using serverless technology primarily for personal computers, mobile telephones and PDAs. In addition, both companies will mutually cooperate in sales and promotion.

In recent years the broadband environment has been growing rapidly, while CPU performance and memory have increased within the endpoints. The effectiveness of P2P on issues such as network security is viewed as a promising technology development that will greatly enhance the survivability and resilience of IP telephony and data storage systems.

Peerio operates in a serverless environment by using P2P technology that has been incorporated in IP Telephones, PDAs, PCs (Win/Mac), WiFi terminals and other network technology.

The Peerio-powered serverless network includes an Administrator Console and a reporting tool that can detect, acquire and manage a user's management and communication log. A system administrator then uses Peerio to manage communication services without the need to deploy large-scale facilities (i.e. IP-PBX or PBX systems), benefiting from easy system management, rapid functionality expansion and dramatic cost cuttings.

As a result ISR and Macnica will bring to market a new high-quality, highly-scalable, serverless solution for carriers and their end user customers.
